Stroke Rehabilitation

Three months of inpatient and outpatient stroke rehabilitation at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital, with direct supervision by a PM&R attending faculty member. The resident assumes primary responsibility for inpatients and assists in teaching rotating medical and PA students. Daily rounds are Monday through Friday with the attending, which includes progress notes, admissions, management of patient care conference as well as variable outpatient clinic duties.

Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation

Three months of inpatient and outpatient TBI rehabilitation at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital, with direct supervision by a PM&R attending faculty member. The resident assumes primary responsibility for inpatients and assists in teaching rotating medical and PA students. Daily rounds are Monday through Friday with the attending daily and the resident is responsible for progress notes, admissions, patient care conference as well as variable outpatient clinic duties.

UK Outpatient PM&R

Participation in various outpatient clinics at the UK Clinic including musculoskeletal, spasticity, management, concussion, initial evaluations, and procedures. Direct supervision by PM&R attending faculty.

VAMC Polytrauma

Rotation consists of a combination of inpatient and outpatient PM&R experiences. These include providing rehabilitation recommendations, assessing patients for TBI in polytrauma clinic, amputee and musculoskeletal clinics. Direct supervision provided by VAMC PM&R attendings.

VA Consult Rehabilitation

Two months of inpatient consult service at Veterans Affair Medical Center, with direct supervision by PM&R attending faculty. Patients include stroke, SCI, TBI, amputees, orthopedics, multiple trauma, and rheumatology.

Pulmonary/Medical Rehabilitation

Two months of inpatient service at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation hospital. Patient exposure includes pulmonary disorders, cardiac disorders including post LVAD management, post-transplant management, geriatrics, and cancer rehab. Direct supervision by PM&R attending faculty.
